    Tugging at the Pillars

Fascist and authoritarian movements derive great power and authority from Christianity, and this is why we need to move to a post-Christian culture in the US.

  • Unregulated Predatory Capitalism

    Unregulated Predatory Capitalism

You’re not broken, you’re being artificially restricted by rules designed to make the wealthy richer and crush the poor. It makes it hard to breathe, which makes it hard to think, and you don’t have the energy to fight against the system – as intended. It’s like a great dragon upon its hoard, throwing fire…

    Beltane Meditation

This is when we again take that baton of life from past generations and hand it forward to the next. This is how we touch the past and fuel the future. This is a celebration of life, of living, of moving along that part of the wheel where we celebrate the miracle of regeneration.

  • Disaster Response

    Disaster Response

Disasters happen, then we clean up and repair and reorganize. When disasters move very slowly, it can seem evil to not try to fight them.

  • History

The idea that someone has captured the truth of a period of time in a page or chapter of a book is cloyingly sweet. You want it to be true. We need it to be possible. There it is, without question or variation, and it reads the same to us every time. We pretend that…

    Icon and Text

The mythology of the Bible is a set of stories told about what the Bible says or means, and these stories reflect elements of a creed […] Most of what is written in a creed isn’t actually in the Bible. Yet it is the creed that defines the denomination. Thus the iconic Bible represents not…

Reframing the Gospels

This project is an analysis of the Gospel text in the context of a Rome-focused history of the early church. As elements are encountered in the text, a note is created here and appended to as needed. The anticipated result is a more fluid work that would encompass at least the first three Gospels in a comparative work.

  • Meditation: Veils and Worlds

    Meditation: Veils and Worlds

This is traditionally the time when we anticipate the “opening of the veil”: which is a time when we can better share our energies with our friends and family who have passed to that “other world”. While this explanation serves the many who celebrate this type of ritual, there are rationalists who find all this…
